I stopped by FreshCo to buy a little food. I took the chicken, two packs of cheese, some apples, tangerines, zucchini and peppers, lettuce, nuts and a couple of vegan chocolates for myself. Something for Ukrainians should be bought. Rice and pasta? Beans in tins?
For eight months, our charity centre AGAPAS (823 Manning Ave) gratefully accepted various donations from kind people, including pasta, rice, and canned food. Everything was in demand. Our centre has a huge fridge, but we don't need it. Any food disappears within half an hour. Now, at this special giving time, I kindly ask you to bring, the only day of the year, Sunday, December 11th for our Ukrainian families diverse and healthy food, fruits and vegetables for kids or something else that we pamper ourselves with.
Here is a request for the last day of our centre's work in the current format in 2022. On December 11, from 12 pm to 5 pm, we also accept everything that can warm families fleeing the war on their first Christmas and New Year in Canada, namely:
for outerwear,
heaters
skates, skis, sledges,
any new products suitable for gifts to children and adults,
tickets for entertainment events,
gift cards, as well as certificates for various services.
Please, pay attention, nothing else. Due to the large amount of pre-holiday work, we also invite ten volunteers with cars.
May the Ukrainian families of our centre feel the scale of Canadian charity in these pre-Christmas days.
Ukrainians, holders of CUAET visas, are invited on Sunday, December 11, from 12 pm to 3 pm. You can pick up from us everything we have already received: warm clothes, a variety of products for children (highchairs, rocking chairs, car seats, playpens, diapers, clothes) kitchen utensils,
household electrical appliances, other household items, and some of the above that we may get.
We cooperate with such organizations as North York Community House, Infusion Immigration Inc, Cultural Link, and employment agencies, whose specialists advise on social issues, immigration, and job search.
We will help you to register in the Food Bank and share all the accumulated information, including for parents who arrived with special children.
Come, please, use all the opportunities to get support wherever you can.
Address: 823 Manning Ave, Toronto. The building is to the left of the church, second floor.
